There’s no denying the appeal of Vermont in the fall and winter—by far the most popular times to visit the state. But I was amazed by the stark beauty and surprising color during my springtime visit. And I was even more delighted to experience it in a less traveled part of the state, which features everything I love about Vermont—the rural and rustic, the old churches and barns, the charming villages and country stores and the lovely, lovely people.
