I used to think I had to travel to far-off destinations to take photos. For too long, I didn’t see the opportunities right in front of me at home in Ohio, especially those in the small town and rural county where I grew up. I took for granted the beauty of Chillicothe and Ross County in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Rolling hills, historic architecture, an iconic paper mill, working-class grit, beloved local institutions (like the incomparable Crispie Creme!). Even my family farm. Well, I see the beauty in all of it now.
