I’m Seth Seymour.

Even as a kid, I was fascinated by travel. Seeing new places, experiencing different cultures and documenting it all along the way. (That photo on the left—that’s a school project I did in the fourth grade. Don’t mean to brag, but I did get a superior.)

Thirty years or so later, I’m still traveling and capturing it through photography. I’ve logged nearly 50 countries to date and racked up a lot of experience and knowledge that can help other people better explore our beautiful world.

Current home base: Columbus, Ohio

Favorite countries: Slovenia, Romania, Italy

Favorite kinds of places to visit: Rural villages, mountains, bakeries, off-the-beaten path places

Favorite things to photograph: Villages, churches on mountains, alpine huts, snowy scenes

Least favorite part of travel: Jet lag, leaving my dog at home (sorry, Ruthie)

Favorite travel partner: My husband Keith

Obsessed with: Christmas markets, alpine culture, coffee

Favorite season to travel: Winter, autumn and spring

Longest trip: Two months in Slovenia

Never travel without: Portable fan for sleeping, camera

Favorite book about living life: Die with Zero by Bill Perkins

Biggest mistake while traveling: Jumping into a chest-deep pit of cow manure thinking it was just shallow mud, all because I was trying to take a shortcut back to this farmhouse where we were staying

My husband Keith, always (well, mostly always) a good sport for our crazy adventures (like spending the night on cots in the Thar Desert on the India-Pakistan border).
